Poetry call out March 2024 – Let’s get neighbourly
The theme for the Glebe Report’s May 2024 Poetry Quarter is “neighbours.” What does it mean to be a neighbour? What makes a good neighbour – simply someone who lives close to you, or does it go deeper? What about a country close to your borders? What do you want and what do others value in you as a neighbour? As your neighbourhood newspaper, we are asking you to consider these questions – poetically – and if the idea inspires, we want to hear from you! As usual, poems should be:
• Original and unpublished in any medium (no poems submitted elsewhere, please);
• No more than 30 lines each;
• On any aspect of the theme within the bounds of public discourse; and
• Submitted on or before Monday, April 22, 2024.
Poets in the National Capital Region of all ages welcome (school-age poets, please indicate your grade and school). Please send your entries (up to five poems that meet the criteria) to editor@ glebereport.
ca. Remember to send us your contact information and your grade and school if you are in school.
Deadline:
Monday, April 22, 2024
